Adjustable Click Pawl Drag

Classic and simple our click pawl mechanism is extremely effective nymphing on mountain streams, chasing resident trout or chironomid fishing on still water. If you are as likely to be stripping line in as you are to playing the fish on the reel, a click pawl is the way to go.

Interchangeable Retrieve

Right or left-handed… It doesn’t matter. With a simple procedure, you can reel your reel your way.

Rapid Release Spool

Stream fishing is often very technical with conditions changing by the hour. The IR’s rapid-release spool mechanism allows anglers to keep up by swapping spools with ease eliminating the need for multiple reels.

The laser engraving process permanently etches the anodized finish without fully penetrating the coating to ensure the finish’s anti-corrosive properties are maintained. The process produces a white finish—we cannot engrave in colour.

Recreational Users

We will repair or replace your IR reel in the event it becomes damaged or defective due to material or workmanship. If we cannot repair your reel, we will replace it with a reel of equal or similar value.

Islander will decide if the product is covered under this warranty due to defective workmanship or material. Parts for older products or models not in our current lineup may be replaced with parts for present models. Colours of parts may differ between the replacement and original.

Islander’s handling fees cover product inspection, diagnosis, lubrication, and restoration to factory specifications

Islanders Limited Lifetime Warranty is valid only if the reel has been cleaned and maintained according to the Maintenance Instructions. This warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, or loss. Nor does this warranty cover damage due to: improper use or improper assembly, improper/inadequate cleaning or improper/inadequate maintenance.

Note: Loss, theft, deliberate damage, or cosmetic damage that does not hinder the performance of the reel are not covered.

Commercial Users (e.g. charter boats, guides, and lodges)

After a period of two years from the date of purchase, should you return your reel for service, a nominal processing and handling fee and the cost of parts will be charged.

A Note on Maintenance

While you can rely on Islanders to deliver lifelong performance, following the maintenance instructions included with your reel will keep your reel performing at its best and minimize the need and hassle of sending your reel in for service.
